The Hero Workshop

The Hero Workshop concentrates on the hero in everyone. By studying the hero's journey and the character traits of heroes, Girl Scouts can embrace their role as the hero of their own lives. As they take the first steps on their journey to adulthood, girls are learning courage, confidence and character through their participation in Girl Scouts. By bringing The Hero Workshop to your Girl Scout troop, you will be able to show the girls that their journey is just like that of all the Girl Scouts who went before them and those who will come after. They can learn from the past and teach future generations. Learning from heroes such as Amelia Earhart, Dorothy and the Yellow Brick Road, Juliette Gordon Low and Oprah Winfrey, your girls will see that the life of a hero is one to be emulated. The Hero Workshop is a one-hour presentation that includes a slideshow, discussion, handouts and worksheets that will leave your girls thinking about themselves in a new light.
